Read the review from one of our recently returned travellers :“If you fancy adventure, you should consider a trip to Australia. My Australian experience started at the airport flying with Qantas to Sydney, my excitement and Qantas’ excellent service didn’t let me think about the 23 hour flight ahead of me. On arrival to get to the hotel forget about public transport as there are numerous taxi companies which provide transfer services for around only A$ 15.00 and they drop you outside your accommodation. Sydney is a small city if compared to London but big enough and diverse enough to offer plenty of sightseeing opportunities. You can get a map from your hotel reception and go for a “self walk sightseeing”. Most of the hotels are located around Hyde Park and the Royal Botanical Gardens. Start your walk from the Royal Botanical Gardens, one of the most central of the 3 major botanical gardens open to the public; and walk along the coast and you will arrive at the Sydney Opera House and then, Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you are not afraid of heights, you should try the Bridge Climb for amazing views of this iconic city. The famous Bondi Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the surrounding suburbs and can be reached by the excellent Metro service and a short walk. Manly Beach nestles amongst the northern Beaches of Sydney only 30 min by the scenic ferry from Circular Quay. Before taking the ferry, go for a quick visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, just next to the ferry terminal.Back to the airport to take a plane to Brisbane and head to Noosa Heads National Park. Australia has over 500 National Parks. Noosa and the surrounding area is blessed with a stunning array of spectacular and breathtakingly beautiful natural attractions which can be visited all year round, with a moderately warm climate 12 months of the year. Beaches from Coolum to Noosa North Shore welcome you with pristine sand and clear blue water. Delve a little deeper and you will find out the Noosa region has many wonderful and unique features where you can discover nature in all of its glory. If you fancy hiking, the park has a lot of walking and hiking options. After Noosa Heads another possibility is to adventure in a 4WD at Fraser Island one of the World Heritage sites, only 1 hour travelling by car from Noosa Heads. It is a place of exceptional beauty, with its long uninterrupted white beaches flanked by strikingly coloured sand cliffs. There are over 100 freshwater lakes, some tea-coloured and others clear-and-blue, all ringed by white sandy beaches. Ancient rainforests grow in sand along the banks of fast-flowing, crystal-clear creeks. Fraser Island is the only place in the world where tall rainforests are found growing on sand dunes at elevations of over 200 metres. The low “wallum” heaths on the island are of particular evolutionary and ecological significance, and provide magnificent wildflower displays in spring and summer. Also in Queensland, is another World Heritage site and one of the Wonders of the World, the Great Barrier Reef(GBR) a mere 21/2 hour flight away on the route from Brisbane to Cairns from where you can start your trip to the GBR.If you are a certified diver it’s worth partaking in a 3 day live-a-board trip, visiting different diving sites and enjoying early morning dives, day dives as well night dives. All packages include all equipment. If you are not a certified diver you can take a diving or snorkelling course. After your 3 day diving sessions ( you have to allow at least 24hs before taking a flight ) why not visit the surroundings of Cairns such as going to the petting zoo where you can take pictures holding Koalas or spend a day at the Lagoon.”The above was just one persons experience . There is also the whole of the West Coast encompassing Western Australia and the Northern Territories where the rugged terrain offers some of Australia’s most stunning scenic opportunities. Set off from Perth (considered by many as Australia’s most beautiful city) and venture forth into the experience of a lifetime. Please contact us to discuss your travel itinerary or just to talk over the thoughts and options you wish to consider.
