Culture vultures can visit Valencia when British Airways starts flights to Spain’s third biggest city later this year.
The direct route from Gatwick begins on November 6th, with four flights a week, which rises to six a week for the summer 2016 season.
Famous for its numerous festivals, fine historic buildings, striking futuristic architecture and great museums, Valencia has a thriving nightlife with brilliant beaches making it one of Spain’s must-see destinations.
Lynne Embleton, British Airways’ managing director at Gatwick said: “Valencia is one of Spain’s cultural gems offering a huge range of sights and activities for holiday-makers throughout the year.
“Our new flights to Valencia mean even more choice for British Airways customers and marks the latest in a long line of popular new routes we’ve launched this year from Gatwick.
“Whether it’s heading to the beach, city breaks or winter sports holidays, British Airways is committed to offering the best choice of flights from Gatwick to Europe, the Caribbean and beyond.”
The new flights to Valencia are just the latest in a range of new holiday-friendly routes started this year from Gatwick by British Airways.
Among those already announced are services to Cagliari, Madeira, Seville, Sharm El Sheikh and Vienna.
Other new destinations launched by the airline include flights from Heathrow to Corfu, Kos, Olbia, Split and Kuala Lumpur and from London City to Mykonos and Santorini.
