TAP Portugal has announced two new destinations in Brazil, Manaus and Belém, commencing in June 2014.
The route is to be launched with three weekly frequencies (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) and will operate the route London – Lisbon – Manaus – Belém – Lisbon – London.
Manaus has a population of 2.3 million people, it is the capital city of the state of Amazonas and one of the fastest growing regions in Brazil. Belém is the capital city of the state of Pará, the entrance gate to the Amazon River with a population of 2.25 million. Both cities are important eco-tourism destinations and Manaus has also been named as one of the host cities of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
